Thank you to the Houston Bar Association for inviting me to be among the “Teachers of the Day” at their Teacher’s Law School at the Historic 1910 Courthouse. This annual event turns the table allowing members of the Houston Bar Association to teach our K-12 educators about relevant trends in the law. I presented on “What’s Happening in Austin that May Impact Teachers.” Public Education is by far the largest part of our state’s budget. A big thank you to my very engaged “students”as we discussed school funding, focus on the child, curriculum and realizing best student outcomes. I learned a lot from them, but then again, that’s what they do…. Thank you to our front line teachers!Your impact is immense and appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

In yesterday’s address to Congress, Prime Minister Netanyahu made the compelling argument for the return of the remaining hostages and the need to defeat Hamas for the sake of Israel and the US. Last month, I, along with a bipartisan delegation, visited Israel where I saw first hand a country united behind these two goals.

It was an amazing and eye opening experience and opportunity to meet with some truly remarkable individuals. I participated in several meetings with survivors of Hamas’ barbaric October 7 attack and with Israel government, business and academic leaders. From Israeli’s Minister of the Economy, Speaker of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), and Minister of Defense we were briefed on the October 7th Hamas attack and its aftermath; from its University leaders, we were briefed on Israeli’s innovations, successes and desire to collaborate with Texas Universities; from its business leaders we were briefed on Israeli’s growing economy, leadership in new technologies, and willingness to partner with Texas. Israel and Texas – the two Lone Star States – have much in common. Our visit, especially at this time in Israel’s history, was special. Our new friends welcomed us with open arms grateful for our support in the aftermath of the October 7th Hamas attack. The resilience and unity of the Israeli people is inspiring. Their hope for the remaining hostages is seen and heard throughout -“Bring Them Home Now!!!” We pray this. #txlege #bringthemhomenow

Thank you, TAAHP, for having me on your Legislative Panel. It was great to join Senator Menendez and Rep. Reynolds. I was grateful for the opportunity to discuss the need for ample housing supply, addressing first-time homebuyers' challenges, and bringing a conservative approach to the housing industry. #hd133 #txlege

Memorial Drive PC Food Pantry “Fuente” serves approximately 400 families each Saturday from 8:00 to 11:00am. Food resources come from Houston Food Bank and individual donations. This week’s regular resources were low in the wake of #Beryl. Thanks to Walmart for stepping up! Your generous donation made a tremendous impact at this weeks’ food distribution. #HD133
