Proud to have passed Senate Bill 24 requiring the inclusion in our public school curriculum of the atrocities, oppression and censorship historically associated with communism and to contrast those with the principles of freedom and democracy of the US, so students can learn the lessons of history.

My family’s story is an example of that contrast and shaped my understanding and appreciation of the freedom and the opportunities we are fortunate to have in America.

My parents and older brothers fled communist Cuba in search of a better life. It is imperative that we protect our liberties and ensure future generations understand their value. I’ll always fight to protect our liberties!
