Texas’ crime rate fell 13% in 2025, marking the third straight year of decline. I voted for the toughest bail reform package in Texas history because Texans deserve to feel safe in their communities.

I’ll continue backing law enforcement and supporting policies that keep violent repeat offenders off our streets.

Governor Greg Abbott today touted that under his current term the crime rate in Texas fell for the third consecutive year, according to new Uniform Crime Reporting data released by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The statewide rate dropped 13% in 2025.
