Two years ago, SBISD voters approved the 2022 Bond Program that included building facilities to fulfill Spring Branch Independent School Districts vision for a world class CTE program and to further its T-2-4 goals. Yesterday’s groundbreaking ceremony for the new Guthrie Center was a big step to fulfilling that vision. Melissa was honored to serve on the Bond Advisory Committee and attend the ceremony. Special shout out to the committee members and the district leaders who helped make this a reality. I voted in the SBISD Trustee elections as well as for the new HCAD Board Member positions. Have you? If not, today is a great day to vote. No lines and short ballots. Early Voting is going on now through April 30 and Election Day is May 4! Turnout is expected to be low so every vote matters even more.

Back to the future! The Hovercraft Project took over Bendwood Elementary cafeteria. 3rd-5th grade students formed teams to build and race hovercrafts. They had a blast while learning about collaboration and engineering. They even let us grown ups go for a ride…. Thanks to Trustee Minda Caesar, Bendwood PTA President Nicole Hobson, PTA volunteer Claire Silliman, and Assistant Director Julie Johnson for the invitation to participate!
